Fluid and filter changes are just as important for your transmission as they are for your engine. Each manufacturer specifies a mileage and/or time interval for service of the transmission. This varies vehicle to vehicle. Some requirements are as simple as draining the fluid and filling it with new fluid, and some require the entire drain pan replacement as part of your service.
